The EduQTech group has developed a system to analyze gait and balance disorders. The system has been awarded at the last Spanish and Latin American Congress of Otolaryngology.

The system arises from a collaboration between doctor Frank Alberto Betances (formerly at the Obispo Polanco Hospital in Teruel) and the EduQTech group. The system consists of three devices that are placed on the ankles and on the lower back. Each of them consists of inertial sensors that allow measuring several aspects of the way of walking: number of steps, stride, speed, height of the feet, angles between the feet among others. In this way, it is intended to characterize gait and determine quantitatively the people who present problems of balance or potential risk of falls.
