Brief description:
This work emerged from several workshops and meeting organized in the province of Teruel. In particular, intellectual disable people and the elderly demanded some device to provide them with some helpful services.
Starting from the user requirements and after checking that no technical device could fulfil all of them, we have designed a device to assist dependent people with four functions: location, telecare, reminder and fall detection. The last function gave rise to a deeper research and publication in journals and conferences.
The systems allows a high degree of personalization. The user only has to carry a smartphone showing a single button similar to a press-for-help device. The rest of the functions are configured and managed through a web application, which is intended for caregiver and relatives and is very easy and intuitive.
